Suck it up Buttercup!

I grew up with Grandma telling me to "Suck it up Buttercup"! The world wasn't a place for those that couldn't hold their own. It's eat or be eaten and suvival of the fittest. God loves my grandma and so do I!

Seasons Change

It's that time of year again, the leaves are falling and old man winter is on his way.  This winter I'm hoping that by posting in this blog I can use it as my sounding board for sanity and health.  My goals before next summer is to drop some excess weight and be fit enough for all that summer has to offer (all those scout hikes and summer camps and such). Along with getting fit for the weddings and parties that are already filling up my calendar for 2012!

Well to start off I recently turned 40! Wow, half way to 80!! I still feel like I'm in my mid 20's (although my body reminds me from time to time that I'm not).  My weight is higher than I'd like it to be and at one point in life (okay when I was like 16 years old) I was a size 4.  Although, thank God, I'm not into the 20+ size range, I'm still larger than I want to be.  Sure I can squeeze into some of my teenage daughters clothes but if I sneezed I'd be arrested!  I've looked around and researched all the fad diets and such. Not going to kill myself to be healthy (kind of an oxymoron huh?).  I'm going to get more active and do portion control and not eat late.  I'll post every couple of weeks (more often if going super well) and let you  know how it's going and what's happening.

Then I'm also going to assume a positive attitude. You know you've been bitching too much when you're sick of hearing yourself!  Let's face it, the world is never going to be run the way I think it should be (and I'm not running for President of the United States - people want a scape-goat instead of trying to help fix the problems).  Like Grandma always said (and so did my darling son last night) "Suck it up Buttercup".  :)

One year, one goal: Change the world

The Challenge:
· Find a creative way to pay it forward
· Share your story
· Pass this card on

When someone does you a favor, don’t just pay it back...
PAY IT FORWARD!

Here is my challenge to others! Do it and then post about it here and share your random kindness or the random kindness extended to you.  Let's see how we can each make a difference!!

KINDNESS

I'm hoping that people will come to my blog and realize that the world is only as good as we each make it.  My grandma used to say to me: "Suck it up Buttercup!" and it's my favorite quote!  Now a days the world is full of whinners and those that blame everyone else for their problems and misfortune.  People need to quit and realize that they are not a victim of circumstance but a victim of their own short falls.  We need to pick ourselves up and dust off and start kicking some butt!  We each need to start holding ourselves accountable for our own actions. We need to quit letting people get away with saying it's someone elses fault and start holding higher standards agian!  It's time we all start to show random acts of kindness to one another.  Don't worry about the pay back but how your action touches the lives of those around you!  You influence more people than you thing!
